THE CULTURAL CENTER - 1987

 Set within the historic fabric of colonial Camagüey, this project explores how modern architecture can enter a protected urban landscape with respect and originality. Contemporary forms embrace the surrounding gardens and civic spaces, creating a cultural center that honors heritage while looking forward. 

 This competition entry, recognized by the Royal Institute of British Architects, studies contextual integration and modern insertions in historic cities—a concept that remains highly relevant in today’s urban design.
